Franca is sick and not a very happy camper. Ugh, I hate getting a cold.
So, I don't know where my head is really. It was a very busy weekend for me. Lisa allowed me to fill in as the cook for the judges' lunch when her original person was unable to complete the job; and I had two entries in the Art/Sci competition.
The lunch was one of my favorites to prepare because its tasty and appealing to most palates. I made Chicken fajitas with a salad preparation, veggie platter, and Butterfinger Dream Dessert. Although the prep time is lengthly; nothing compares to the freshness of the meal. I slid in just under my budget another plus and received some nice compliments. Thanks to everyone who had kind words.
I entered my Gluckshaus board in the Toys and Games category and a drawing of a handbill I made to submit as a Talewinds cover in the Ambiance category.
I scored a bit better than I expected. The judges comments on the Gluckshaus board were fair and warranted. (I was asked how I felt about a certain new laurels comments as she was one of two judges on my work. Fair, consistent, and objective. Worthy of her title. Thanks for asking.)
I wish I had more comments on the other, the handbill. Perhaps, an area of study. It was during the judging and populace viewing that I came to realize that many are not aware of advertising in the middle ages. Many enjoyed the drawing, but did not understand the purpose. Another project to add to my list.
My frustration comes from realizing after reading the comments that I overlooked some things that I could have done. Ugh!!!! I must be a glutton for punishment or so I have been told. I enjoy the puzzle of trying to meet the criteria and make my creativity fit within the perimeters of the period. It is those comments that make me want to try again, to do a better job, to create something inspired.
Their majesties have honored me once again with their acclaim and I can only say that I am humbled to be so recognized when others created many truly lovely works. I feel unworthy of such recognition but I will continue to endeavor to improve the quality and period workmanship of my pieces. Many thanks to their majesties and to all who dropped a bead in my cup, you praise sings its song in my heart.
On another note, to the two ladies who were kind to assist me during my bout of asthma, thank you very much for your kindness. I don't prefer to allow my weaknesses of nature to take hold of me, but when they do, I am a bit stubborn about dealing with them. (okay, so I am a bad patient.) Anyway, thanks for putting me in timeout. :)
I am only too sorry to have missed feast since I had enjoyed watching its preparation. I hope someone will respond and tell me about it.
